Counseling Psychology Intern
From a very young age I knew that I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others. That interest led me to discover my passion for psychology during adolescence and, since then, I have worked with the goal of becoming a therapist and accompanying people in their process of growth and emotional well-being.
I am currently a master's student at Texas Woman's University (TWU), where I am continuing my training to become a professional therapist. Additionally, I complete my clinical training at Therapy Works Counseling, where I continue to develop my skills in providing ethical, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington in May 2024.
I am passionate about offering bilingual therapy and working with people who face challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress management, sexuality issues, family conflicts, grief, interpersonal relationships and the processes of adaptation to different stages of life. I enjoy working with diverse populations and accompanying people of all ages, although I have a special interest in working with adolescents and adults.
My therapeutic approach is based on the idea that each person is unique and that their life experiences, relationships and identities have contributed to shaping who they are today. Therefore, I seek to create a space where each client feels seen, heard and valued in their entirety. Although I continue to explore and develop my clinical orientation, I especially identify with approaches such as Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), Solution Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Person-Centered Therapy, always integrating a feminist and multicultural perspective in my work.
I firmly believe that mental health deserves the same attention and importance as physical health. I also recognize that there are social, cultural and economic barriers that can make it difficult to access mental health services. My goal is to help reduce these barriers and help more people find accessible, quality emotional support.
As the daughter of Mexican parents, working with the Hispanic community has a very special meaning for me. I understand some of the experiences, values and challenges that can arise when navigating between different cultures, as well as the stigma that still exists around seeking psychological support. That's why I strive to create a space where people feel understood, respected, and free to express themselves in the language they feel most comfortable with.
I know that starting therapy can feel like a difficult or intimidating step. However, therapy is designed to be a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. My hope is to be able to accompany you in that process and collaborate with you to build a life that reflects your needs, values and personal goals.
As a professional in training, I remain committed to continuous learning and constant updating of knowledge and therapeutic tools. I believe that growing as a therapist involves combining education, curiosity and the permanent willingness to continue learning from each experience and from each person who trusts in this process.
