Jacqueline Herrera

I'm the doctor. Jacqueline Herrera, a licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D.) with 15 years of clinical experience. Tying in person in San Antonio, Texas, and online in all of Texas, New Mexico and PSYPACT participating states. I offer my services in Spanish and English.

Psychological evaluation is the center of my practice. I conduct clinical assessments for immigration processes, comprehensive psychological assessments, ADHD and autism assessments, diagnostic clarification, pre-surgical and assisted reproduction assessments, assessments for the prescription of controlled substances and substance consumption, disability assessments for veterans, and forensic and personal injury assessments. I work with children, adolescents, adults and families.

I especially enjoy complex diagnostic questions. In each evaluation I integrate the clinical interview, psychological tests, personal history, files and context information to achieve a complete understanding of the functioning of each person. One of the most significant parts of my work is to help people and their families better understand what they are living in and to give them clear information that guides treatment, services and the next steps.

My style is warm, collaborative, direct and understanding-oriented. I consider each person within the context of his or her experiences, relationships, culture, family system and current circumstances, rather than applying a single formula for all.

I know that participating in a psychological assessment may feel unknown or intimidating. That is why I seek to make the process comfortable and understandable: I explain what to expect at every stage, I encourage questions and I create an environment in which you feel respected and confident.

As a bilingual psychologist, my training includes psychological evaluation, psychotherapy, forensic evaluation and consulting with various populations. My clinical perspective is based mainly on psychodynamic, family systemic and existential approaches.
