Psy.D.
I am Dr. Jessica De Leon, a licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D.), licensed in Pennsylvania and Maryland, and through PSYPACT where authorized. At Therapy Works I am exclusively dedicated to immigration clinical evaluations, which I conduct online.
I know that arriving at an evaluation in the middle of an immigration process can generate nerves and uncertainty. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood and accompanied at every step, in a safe space where you can tell your story without fear of being judged.
As a bilingual psychologist, I conduct assessments in both English and Spanish, so you can express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you. I recognize that culture, family, identity, faith, and life experiences influence how we experience the world, and I seek to honor those parts of your story throughout the assessment.
Throughout my training and career I have had the privilege of working with people from very diverse cultural backgrounds in college counseling centers, hospitals, community mental health services, and private practice. Those experiences have deepened my appreciation for the resilience that each person carries with them, even in the most difficult stages.
My doctoral research focused on self-actualization and well-being in the Latin community, reflecting my passion for understanding how culture, identity, and personal growth are intertwined. That perspective guides my work: understanding not only each person's difficulties, but also their strengths and values.
Understanding how unconscious thoughts and past experiences influence behavior and relationships.
See the person as part of a social network and interconnected groups.
Focused on the potential of each person, personal growth and self-realization.
Empower each person to direct their own growth and self-discovery.
How past and present relationships shape self-behavior and sense.
Improve personal relationships to relieve symptoms.
