Nancy Alvarez

I am Nancy Alvarez, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). My mission as a therapist is to accompany you on your path to emotional well-being, helping you overcome challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions and generational trauma.

I work with teenagers, young adults and adults, offering a safe, welcoming and supportive space where you can feel understood. My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University (SMU).

My therapeutic approach is based on creating a collaborative alliance with you to achieve your personal goals in therapy. I strive to provide an environment that promotes safety and trust, where together we work to identify and overcome the obstacles you face.

What motivated me to pursue the field of mental health was my own journey working with intergenerational trauma. This personal experience inspired me to support others in their healing processes.

I am deeply committed to the Hispanic and bilingual community, understanding the importance of providing services in our language and with cultural sensitivity. My goal is to help our community improve their mental health, breaking down barriers such as language and lack of resources.

To stay up-to-date on therapeutic best practices, I regularly participate in courses and classes that strengthen my areas of expertise, and in the future, I plan to become certified in EMDR to further my work in trauma.
