About Rosanna Kaser

I'm a student of the Master's degree in Family and Matrimonial Therapy Sciences. My training focuses on understanding people in the context of their family, partner and community relations. Throughout my studies I have received training in various therapeutic models, with a particular interest in working with families, adolescents and parents.

Before I started my training as a therapist, I worked in different areas that allowed me to develop communication, problem-solving and support skills. I have experience in human resources, as legal secretary, and in the educational field, as a long-term substitute teacher in secondary school. During my time in schools I worked with students from different contexts and needs, including programs for talented students, special education and student leadership. These experiences helped me to better understand the challenges faced by young people, families and the systems around them.

My main clinical interests include working with adolescents, families, parents and family relations. I am particularly interested in helping families to strengthen communication, establish healthy limits, face difficult transitions and develop stronger relationships. I also have a particular interest in supporting young people and their families while facing behavioural, emotional or relational challenges.

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative and respectful. I believe that lasting change occurs when there is a solid relational base in the family. At the same time, I believe that healthy relationships require a consistent structure that promotes stability, security and growth. My approach is mainly influenced by Structural Family Therapy, which seeks to strengthen family relations, clarify roles and establish healthy limits. I also value approaches focused on strengths and solutions, which help people identify the resources they already possess while working towards their goals.

My interest in therapy came from the different professional experiences I have had over the years. I have worked in educational, legal and corporate environments and, in each of them, I was able to see how personal challenges rarely affect one person. These challenges often also impact families, relationships and how people relate to those around them. These experiences aroused in me the desire to help people more deeply and significantly. That's why I decided to become a family and marriage therapist. I love to accompany individuals, couples and families as they strengthen their relationships, overcome difficulties and build a stronger basis for their well-being and growth.

I keep up with my postgraduate studies, clinical supervision, reading of current research and participation in training and continuing education opportunities. I believe that continuous learning is essential for providing quality services and responding to the changing needs of individuals and families.

My interest in working with the Hispanic and bilingual community is born from my own history. I am the daughter of Mexican immigrants and grew up looking closely at the importance of family, culture and language in people's lives. The Latin community is my community and, for me, it is a privilege to be able to serve and support families who share similar experiences and values.

I have also seen how many Hispanic families face unique challenges, such as language barriers, generational differences, cultural adaptation processes and immigration-related experiences. These challenges can influence family relations, child-rearing, sense of identity and willingness to seek mental health support. I think it is important to have professionals who understand these contexts and can offer a space in which people feel heard, respected and understood.

If you're thinking of starting therapy, but you still don't get encouraged, I want to tell you that seeking help is a sign of courage, not weakness. Many people wait until they are completely overwhelmed before seeking support, but there is no need to reach that point. Therapy offers a safe space to talk, reflect and find new perspectives. It is not necessary to have all the answers before starting; sometimes, the first step is simply to be willing to start the conversation.

My objective is to help individuals, couples and families strengthen their relationships, develop their strengths and meet the challenges of life without losing sight of the family and cultural values that are so important to our community.
